Mini Monogrammed Brownie Favor Pops
What’s glamorously chic on the outside, yet sensuously sweet on the inside? No, not the birthday girl—these monogrammed brownie favor pops! But the glam chocolate monogram is just the icing on the cake: at the center of each favor pop is a delicious fresh-baked brownie. They’re the perfect gourmet favor for any bridal shower, birthday party or bachelorette fete.

Each chocolate-covered brownie favor pop features a single initial in either milk, dark or white chocolate. Arrives individually wrapped in cellophane and tied with an organza bow. Measures approximately 1.75″ diameter and 4.88″ high (including the stick).

New Ghirardelli Flavors

August 18, 2010

Ghirardelli Chocolate is coming out with two new flavors, and you can now get them online!

Intense Dark Sea Salt Soiree Bar
“The luxuriously deep and velvety dark chocolate in Sea Salt Soiree is infused with bursts of sea salt and roasted almonds delivering unrivaled chocolate intensity. Experience a moment of timeless pleasure with Ghirardelli’s all natural Intense Dark Chocolate.”

Dark & Orange Filled Bar
“Take time to slow down and feel yourself melt with each bite. Savor the luxuriously rich flavors surrounding your senses – velvety chocolate and zesty burst of real oranges. Enjoy as the chocolate pleasure lingers.”

What’s great about these two new flavors is that they have the flavor of an expensive gourmet chocolate but with a price tag that doesn’t make you feel guilty about splurging on them. I tried them both and liked the Dark & Orange slightly better. I’m a dark chocolate fan to begin with, so that helped. I actually wasn’t sure that I would like the Dark Sea Salt at all but ended up finding it to be an addictive combination. The salt cut the sweetness just enough. The orange reminded me of their raspberry filled bars but not quite as sweet.

Bars start at less than $4. Click here to try out the new Ghirardelli flavors online before they are released in the stores.

(For a limited time,  you can use code SUNSHINE15 and get 15% off of your Ghirardelli purchase)

Choc Stix Featured on Rachael Ray Show

September 17, 2009

I just got word that a product from one of my favorite merchants (EdibleGiftsPlus) is going to be featured on the Rachael Ray show on September 25 as her snack of the day.

Choc Stix are chow mein noodles dipped in smooth chocolate. You can choose from either milk chocolate or white chocolate. They come packaged in a cute little Chinese takeout box.

At less than $10, this would make a really cute and original gift. Who I am kidding? I’d have them eaten before I could give them away! You can check out these and lots of other really cute treats (I’m partial to the Brownie Stix) at EdibleGiftsPlus.com.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries: Fake or Real?

February 10, 2009

As we get closer to Valentine’s Day, many of us start thinking about chocolate covered strawberries. Because it can be hard to find them locally, I usually end up ordering mine online. However, I recently discovered that not all chocolate covered strawberries are the same. In fact, some of them are actually fake chocolate!

I’m not going to go into specific brands, but I think this is important information for those of you who might be ordering chocolate covered strawberries online. The last time that you shopped online for chocolate covered strawberries, what was the actual description of the product advertised. Did it include the word “chocolate” in the ingredients? I’ve recently found out that many of them do not. Many say things like “hand dipped strawberries” or “covered strawberries.” Chocolate isn’t mentioned when you look closely. Why is that? Because those companies are not using real chocolate and the FDA won’t allow them to say “chocolate covered” unless they truly are.

I talked to the owner of ccberries.com to get educated about the differences. Apparently most companies use a candy coating rather than chocolate on their strawberries. In order to be advertised as “chocolate,” the coating must contain cocoa butter…and a lot of cheaper coatings do not. Instead, they use vegetable oil as a cheaper filler.

So if you are looking for chocolate covered strawberries this Valentine’s Day, educate yourself and make sure that you are getting what you pay for. Read descriptions of products called “hand dipped strawberries” carefully and check out their ingredients. Find sites like ccberries.com that actually sell real chocolate covered strawberries so that you or your recipient will not be disappointed.
