Best Chocolate Popcorn Ever (Popcornopolis Review)

Chocolate Popcorn from Popcornopolis

Chocolate Popcorn from Popcornopolis

I consider myself a bit of a chocolate covered popcorn expert. I’ve tried everything from Boy Scout popcorn to homemade chocolate popcorn balls. But this year I found my all-time new favorite, Popcornopolis! Although they have a number of great flavors (some of the odd people in my family prefer the savory over the sweet), by far my favorite is their signature Zebra.

Zebra Chocolate popcorn is caramel popcorn drizzled with stripes of dark chocolate and white chocolate. Normally I am not a fan of white chocolate, but there is something about this combination that makes it the absolute best popcorn I have ever tasted. I’m not even the type that gets popcorn at the movie theatre. If it doesn’t have the right kind of chocolate on it, I don’t bother. Zebra Chocolate is definitely the right kind of chocolate.

If you are more of a purist, Popcornopolis also has a Chocolate Caramel that is the same but without the white chocolate. But I really encourage you to try the Zebra, because it’s 10X better than it even sounds. They also have a Rocky Road if you like nuts (almonds in this case) in your caramel corn. The Rocky Road also has pieces of marshmallow. For a limited time, they have Candy Cane Crunch, which is dark and white chocolate infused with peppermint and a dusting of crushed candy canes. I have not tried that one yet, but it is on my list!

Lastly, they have a chocolate with peanut butter. I’m not a fan of peanut butter, so I did not even try it. I did buy a bag of it for the rest of my family and it disappeared within a day, so I am guessing that it was pretty good!

I do have to caution you about the “pickers” in the group. When you put out a bowl of this chocolate popcorn, keep an eye out for the people who immediately try to grab the big chunks of popcorn stuck together with extra chocolatey goodness. You’ll know what I mean when you dig into the bag. And if you are one of the “pickers,” make sure that you grab the bag first and pull out those big chunks before anyone else has the chance.

If you are looking for a great gift idea, Popcornopolis is the way to go. I actually buy it now every time I am entertaining groups of friends and have become kind of known for serving it. They have great coupons on their site and you can also use this code of ours DELISH20 to take 20% off any order if they are not running a better deal on their site.

Jelly Belly Dipped Chocolate Candy

Jelly Belly is branching out! Although they are best known for their jelly beans, they have been taking their candies to a new level by dipping them in chocolate. Chocolate covered jelly beans and orange slices? Watch the video review below and you will be sold!

The Jelly Belly Chocolate Dips are different flavors of jelly beans dipped in chocolate. Flavor choices are mint, coconut, orange, raspberry, strawberry, and very cherry. You can get them in individual flavor bags or the combination box seen here:

The consistency of the dipped jelly bean is a little bit like a chocolate covered raisin only with a yummy flavored jelly bean on the inside rather than a dried out grape.

The Dark Chocolate Orange Slices are Sunkist naturally flavored candy orange slices (made with orange juice) and are also covered in dark chocolate.

NFL Candy from M&M’s

As if M&M’s were not already perfect enough, you can now get them with your favorite NFL team on them! When you go to the site, you first choose your favorite team (for me, that is the Pittsburgh Steelers, but we can all agree to disagree). Once you select your team, you will see which M&M’s will be included. The Steelers M&M mix has a white and a gold each with our emblem as well as a gold one with “Steelers” in black and a regular black one with an “m” on it. Some of the other teams actually had 4 colors of candy rather than 3.

After choosing your team, you have to decide how you want them packaged. You can get a themed 7oz bag, a dispenser with your team’s logo and 3 7oz bags, or 5 pounds in bulk.

Right now is a particularly good time to get the NFL M&M’s because they are 10% off. But that deal won’t last long, so you had better order quickly! Click here to see all of the NFL M&M’s.

New Ghirardelli Flavors

Ghirardelli Chocolate is coming out with two new flavors, and you can now get them online!

Intense Dark Sea Salt Soiree Bar
“The luxuriously deep and velvety dark chocolate in Sea Salt Soiree is infused with bursts of sea salt and roasted almonds delivering unrivaled chocolate intensity. Experience a moment of timeless pleasure with Ghirardelli’s all natural Intense Dark Chocolate.”

Dark & Orange Filled Bar
“Take time to slow down and feel yourself melt with each bite. Savor the luxuriously rich flavors surrounding your senses – velvety chocolate and zesty burst of real oranges. Enjoy as the chocolate pleasure lingers.”

What’s great about these two new flavors is that they have the flavor of an expensive gourmet chocolate but with a price tag that doesn’t make you feel guilty about splurging on them. I tried them both and liked the Dark & Orange slightly better. I’m a dark chocolate fan to begin with, so that helped. I actually wasn’t sure that I would like the Dark Sea Salt at all but ended up finding it to be an addictive combination. The salt cut the sweetness just enough. The orange reminded me of their raspberry filled bars but not quite as sweet.

Bars start at less than $4. Click here to try out the new Ghirardelli flavors online before they are released in the stores.

(For a limited time,  you can use code SUNSHINE15 and get 15% off of your Ghirardelli purchase)

Cranberry Raisinet Review

I’m a huge fan of Raisinets. They are always my “go to” snack at the movies and usually even when we watch movies at home. Since I am also a big cranberry eater, I decided that I would try Nestle’s new Cranberry Raisinets.

Honestly, there wasn’t much of a difference in the taste of the cranberry from the regular raisins. They may have been just a little bit more tart, but certainly not as tart as regular cranberries. I love that cranberries are full of anti-oxidants, which makes these a great little treat. You can actually even get them in 100 calorie packs. The nutritional information is almost the exact same for the regular Raisinets and the regular Raisinets. While I will still primarily stick with my traditional Raisinets, I will absolutely mix it up every now and again with the Cranberry for a little different flavor.

Here’s a cute video produced by Nestle:
